Precaution in Mediclaim
Nowadays pandemic covid19 has made life very stressful. People are purchasing a short-term plan to protect themselves from this pandemic.
Usually, when we purchase any medical insurance we check a few things like whether it is cashless or to getting any room of own choice or co-payment option.
All questions we raised are good and relevant in nature. But the majority of policies have common features. Which are mentioned in policy wordings.
Before making any decision we have to go through the fine details.
Likewise ambulance cover, baby cover{ new born}, a vaccine for newborn baby.
All these (baby cover for a newborn)are covered till 91 days in policy. After this what is the condition which one has to check?
Slab for age is one such criterion where we can save money if we have long age slab, then actual outgo is less. It is the first checkpoint before taking any decision.
At an early age generally, people do not have health issues as compared to old age. There is less chance to have claimed at this age. Here family starts its journey. If any company has an age bracket of short span then our overall costing increases which we have to pay.
In the same way, there should be at least 500 nos ofdaycaree procedure. If company is flexible to change any in-patient treatment with day care as per guidelines of WHO or ICMR, it means major costs get reduced.
Before rushing to purchase any cover like corona cover we should check with our existing policy whether it is covered or not. Ambulance cover is in lumpsum or per hospitalization , which ever thing suits us that should be purchased.
Cost is a major factor for the policy with refill, as it is a one-time cost but benefits are more.
Refill should be there if we are paying a good sum with the same SUM ASSURE.
